Surefire LPGA Hall of Famer Lorena Ochoa will take a break from retirement and return to the course in October at the Ladies European Tour’s French Open, according to her website.

Ochoa, who left competitive golf in 2010, missed her own Lorena Ochoa Invitational last year because she was pregnant; she gave birth to a son in December 2011. Her event is on her 2012 calendar for November 8-November 11, as is an early September date in Norway in which she’ll team up with world No. 1 Yani Tseng against fellow legendary retiree Annika Sorenstam and Norway’s Suzann Pettersen in an exhibition.
The French Open, at Chantaco Golf Club in Aquitaine, France, is an interesting addition to the 30-year-old’s schedule. Ochoa, who played on the LPGA Tour from 2003-2010, won two majors and 27 total tour events. When she retired, Ochoa said that she may come back to play a major tourney or two, although she noted such appearances would likely be at a U.S. Open or the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
