The Barclays 2012: Padraig Harrington Shoots 7-Under To Lead

Padraig Harrington leads at the 2012 Barclays at Bethpage with a 7-under 64. Nick Watney is right behind after shooting a 6-under 65, with Pat Perez’ 5-under for the day and Gary Christian’s 5-under through 11 trailing.

Harrington birdied six of his final eight holes, including the Par-4 16th and the Par-3 17th. He parred on the Par-4 18th to close the round. Harrington hit 89 percent of greens in regulation for the day and his only bogey came on the Par-3 3rd hole. He finished with eight birdies total on the day.

Scores of note in the early going include Rory McIlroy at 1-under through 15, Tiger Woods at 2-under through 15 and Phil Mickelson at 3-under through 17.
