The Barclays 2012: Ernie Els, Brandt Snedeker At 3-Under Through Front 9

Ernie Els and Brandt Snedeker sit at 3-under par through the front nine in the opening round of the Barclays 2012 tournament in Farmingdale, New York.

Sitting four strokes off the lead, Els and Snedeker are in an 11-way tie for 12th place, which shows the depth of competition in the field. Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods are a few of the names holding 3-unders at this time, although the aforementioned trio has already completed their first round.

Jim Furyk and Bubba Watson both sit at 2-under, with each player having several holes remaining in their round.

Padraig Harrington of Ireland still sits atop the leaderboard with a 7-under, finishing his day with eight birdies. Nick Watney and Brian Harman both sit one stroke off the lead, finishing the day at 6-under.
