Nick Watney Wins The Barclays By 3 Strokes

Nick Watney pulled out a come-from-behind victory in the final round of The Barclays, winning by three strokes over Brandt Snedeker as Sergio Garcia fell to a tie for third place.

Watney came into the final round trailing Garcia, but was able to fight back and build a three-shot lead. As Watney stayed the course, Garcia fell behind with a final round 75. Snedeker shot a 70 in his final round to take sole possession of second at seven-under. Garcia tied with Dustin Johnson for third at six-under.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both finished 1-over and tied for 38th place. Woods’s rounds got worse as the tourney went on, as he hit a 68, 69, 72 and 76 in his four rounds. Mickelson was up and down with a 68, 74, 67 and 76 over his tournament.

Garcia was denied his second straight tournament win, while Watney won his first tournament of the season.
