The Barclays 2012 Purse: Nick Watney Gets Close To $1.5 Million

With an $8 million dollar purse available at The Barclays, Nick Watney raked in $1.44 million after his come-from-behind win over Sergio Garcia.

Watney finished 10-under par after a final round of 69, to win his first tournament of the season. Garcia lost the lead to Watney in the final round, and with the lead went $976,000 as Garcia finished tied for third with Dustin Johnson. Both men left with $464,000.

Snedeker snuck in late to almost double his intake, by taking sole possession of second place after hitting a final round 70 to finish seven-under par. Snedeker went home with $864,000.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson only brought home $32,000 apiece, but Woods still remains atop the PGA Tour money list for the season. Roy McIlroy, who finished tied for 24th, took home $56,700 to keep his second place spot on the overall list.
