Deutsche Bank Championship 2012: Rory McIlroy Finishes 20-Under, Wins Tournament

Rory McIlroy shot 4-under on Monday at TPC Boston to finish at 20-under for the Deutsche Bank Championship, winning the tournament by one shot over Louis Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen was in prime position to win the tournament, but shot his worst round of the event on Monday. He managed an even-par 71, finishing at 19-under for the tournament.

Tiger Woods finished in the hunt as well, finishing in third place at 18-under after shooting a 5-under 66 on Monday.

The win puts McIlroy in first place of the Fed Ex Cup standings, leaping over Nick Watney, who finished tied for 20th and shot 6-under for the tournament.

Americans Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson rounded out the top five, with both golfers shooting 14-under for the tournament.

Last year’s champion Webb Simpson finished tied for 18th, at 7-under for the tournament.

The PGA Tour heads to Carmel, Indiana next for the BMW Championship, starting on Thursday, Sept. 6.
