BMW Championship 2012: Vijay Singh Holds On To Lead In Tight Field

The leaders are halfway through the third round at the 2012 BMW Championship, and Vijay Singh has managed to stay ahead of a very tight field.

Singh is 3-under through 10 holes and 16-under overall. Phil Mickelson has moved into second at 14-under through 15. Three men are tied for third at 13-under. Dustin Johnson is through 13, Adam Scott is through 14 while Graeme McDowell is on hole No. 11.

Rory McIlroy has stayed even through nine, offsetting an early birdie on hole No. 4 with a bogey on No. 9. He’s 12-under overall and tied for fifth. Just behind him is Tiger Woods, who has been up and down throughout the round. He collected back-to-back bogeys in two places, holes No. 3 and 4 and again on No. 7 and 8. He’s got three birdies to go with that, leaving him 1-over through 10 and 11-under overall, good enough to tie for 10th.
