Tiger Woods wins the 2013 WGC-Cadillac Championship

Tiger Woods won his 17th World Golf Championships event on Sunday, earning a first-place finish at the 2013 WGC-Cadillac Championship.

After starting the final round at the WGC-Cadillac Championship with a four-stroke lead at 18-under par, Woods shot one-under par on Sunday to finish two strokes ahead of second-place Steve Stricker, who finished at 17-under par.

Woods’ lead was never in jeopardy. He came out of the gates swinging in the opening round and never looked back. He steadily made par putts during the final round to seal the deal and keep Phil Mickelson and Stricker at a healthy distance.

The win is Woods’ second of the year. He won a PGA Tour event back in January at the Farmers Insurance Open. This was his first World Golf Championships win since winning the 2009 Bridgestone Invitational.
