Stefani managed to be the only player on the day who navigated breezy conditions to remain error free. The same can’t be said of defending champion Luke Donald, who shot a disappointing 1-under, 70, which ties him for 14th.
Weather will be on the field’s side, with breezes expected to subside slightly, while the Tampa Bay Championship enjoys a cloudless, 72-degree day. Stefani will hope his smooth sailing continues, while Donald, who shot three bogies in the front nine, hopes the shadow over his game will subside.
