Adam Scott was the story of the PGA Championship for much of the first two days. That was until Jason Dufner came along and shot a Oak Hill course record 7-under 63. Now, the two will be paired together in the final group on Saturday.
PGA Championship 2013: Tee times, pairings for Saturday’s round
Adam Scott and Jason Dufner, the first and second round leaders at the PGA Championship, will be paired together in the final group on Saturday.
Dufner is the 36-hole leader at 9-under, two strokes ahead of Scott, who is tied for second place. Dufner is the betting favorite through two rounds, with Scott just behind him. After winning the Masters earlier this season, Scott is playing for his second major and would likely wrap up Player of the Year honors if he claimed the Wanamaker Trophy. Dufner will attempt to replicate the success he had on Friday, still searching for the first major championship of his career.
Matt Kuchar and Jim Furyk begin the day tied with Scott at 7-under. The two veterans will be paired together in the third round, one group ahead of Dufner and Scott. Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson open the round three strokes off the lead. They will be paired together in the third round, with Steve Stricker and Robert Garrigus going off one group prior.
Tiger Woods begins Saturday 10 strokes off the lead. He struggled to string birdies together during the first two rounds. Woods was paired with Davis Love III and Keegan Bradley on Thursday and Friday and will play with Bradley once again on Saturday. They are scheduled to tee off at 11:05 a.m. ET.
At 2-over, Phil Mickelson has even more ground to make up. He’ll be paired with Vijay Singh in the third round; Singh is also 2-over through 36 holes. Here is a complete list of the third round tee times (all times ET):
