John Hahn flirted with scoring a magical 59 in the fourth round of the European Tour’s Q-school on Tuesday -- and then tapped in for birdie on his final hole on the Tour Course at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain for a mystical 58.
John Hahn fires 58 at European Tour q-school

— The European Tour (@EuropeanTour) November 18, 2014 ..... 58
— John Hahn (@_JohnHahn) November 18, 2014 We’re guessing Hahn did not much care that his record round won’t count as an official tally since the players used preferred lies due to wet conditions, and neither did the many touring pros who offered the American virtual pats on the back (Lee Westwood won with his clever congratulatory tweet).
58 at the school for @_JohnHahn . Round of applause or a big Hahn'd!
— Lee Westwood (@WestwoodLee) November 18, 2014 58!!!! Hahn man your a stud!! @_JohnHahn
— Peter Uihlein (@PeterUihlein) November 18, 2014 Wow @_johnhahn #58
— Brooks Koepka (@BKoepka) November 18, 2014 Hahn, by the way, entered the day 104th of 150 players vying to become one of the top 70 to make the cut for the final two rounds of the grueling contest. The lowest 25 scorers of those 70 earn their European Tour cards for the 2015 season.
Ranked 120th on the Euro Tour in 2014, Hahn, thanks to his jaw-dropping play of Tuesday, zoomed into the top 15 heading into the last two days. His round included no bogeys and 12 birdies, seven of which he made on the back nine, where he signed for a head-spinning 28.
