Tiger Woods will return to competitive golf in a week and a half with a new swing coach in tow.
Tiger Woods announces his new swing coach for upcoming season
Tiger replaces Sean Foley with little-known Chris Como, who has become Woods’ fourth swing coach since he turned professional.

Woods announced on Saturday via his Twitter account that he had hired 37-year-old Chris Como to take the spot that’s been vacant since Tiger and Sean Foley split in August.
Happy to have Chris Como consulting and working with me on my swing. I’m excited to be back competing.
— Tiger Woods (@TigerWoods) November 22, 2014 Woods met Como through his former Stanford teammate and good friend, Notah Begay III.
“I don’t think anybody’s ready” for the high-profile, pressure-packed position Como has accepted, Begay told Kelly Tilghman on Golf Channel shortly after the news broke. “I don’t know that any one class, or seminar, or counseling session could prepare anybody for what’s going to happen in even the next couple hours.”
Woods will make his first competitive start since August on December 3 at his Hero World Challenge. He expanded a bit on the hiring via a statement from his manager, Mark Steinberg: “I was introduced to Chris this summer by Notah, and subsequently we had several good conversations about the golf swing. I’ve worked with him about a month since I started practicing. Chris will consult and work with me during the year.”
Como is completing a masters degree in biomechanics and teaches at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas. He was Golf Magazine’s youngest top-100 teacher in 2013, at the age of 35, and is a Golf Digest “top 40 under 40” instructor, according to Golf Channel. He is Woods’ fourth instructor since the 14-time major champion turned professional, following behind Butch Harmon, Hank Haney, and the recently fired Foley.
