Rickie Fowler jumps in the lake after Bubba Watson shoots 83, withdraws from Bay Hill
Rickie Fowler had some fun with Bubba Watson after the latter’s less-than-fun day at Bay Hill on Thursday. Fowler only hit the water once while Bubba rinsed a trio of golf balls on his way to an 11 on Bay Hill’s par-5 sixth.

Bubba Watson, as Brendan Porath so vividly depicted on Thursday, did a triple dunk and scored a sextuple-bogey 11 on Bay Hill’s par-5 sixth hole, unceremoniously retired his scorecard after a first-round 83, and blamed his "Tin Cup" performance on allergies.
What the 2012 Masters champion did not explain was the real reason for his premature withdrawal, so it’s a good thing that Bubba’s best bud Rickie Fowler was around to fill us in on why Watson was so keen to get off the course. A frequent house guest of Bubba, wife Angie, and son Caleb, as well as a co-member of the Golf Boys band, Fowler -- in blue trousers, a signature backwards lime green flat-bill cap, and lime green golf shirt, and with Watson as videographer -- did a flip into a lake off a deck near the Orlando-based Arnold Palmer Invitational.

— Rickie Fowler (@RickieFowlerPGA) March 20, 2014 Bubba, of course, was in on the fun, taking to Twitter to equate his “bad golf” with Fowler’s running back flip.

Fowler, by the way, did not have his best game on Thursday either, though he did come in 10 shots below Watson, with a 1-over 73. Starting the second round right on the projected cut line, Fowler has much ground to make up on overnight leader Adam Scott, who torched Bay Hill to a course record-tying 62.
