Tiger Woods drills 92-foot putt for birdie at Doral

Tiger Woods has had his share of water balls and other mayhem in two rounds at Doral, but an enormous putt for birdie on the par-3 fourth puts a smile on the lips of the world No. 1.

Tiger Woods did his best Paula Creamer imitation Friday at Doral when he canned a putt of 91 feet, seven inches on the par-3 fourth hole during the second round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

As eye-popping as the stroke was, it was not the longest putt Woods has ever made.

It was, however, longer than any putt made by a PGA Tour player for some time and was 15 feet better than the 75-foot walk-off birdie Creamer drained to win in Singapore earlier this month.

Woods’ improbable birdie got him to 2-over in his second round and 6-over for the week on a day when the water hazards were gobbling up golf balls by the dozens (71 in the second round alone, to be exact, at the time of Tiger’s awesome putt). He converted a ho-hum eight-footer or so for a second straight birdie on No. 5.

Phil Mickelson, no doubt, could use a bit of Tiger’s flat stick magic. With three straight double-bogeys on his outgoing nine, things -- as the photo from Kyle Porter can attest -- were not going well for the reigning British Open champ.
