Ian Poulter tweets rant at golf writer a day after blasting Hideki Matsuyama

Ian Poulter was having a bad week on Donald Trump’s revamped Blue Monster and tweeted a blue streak at a golf writer.

Ian Poulter, a day after blasting fellow WGC-Cadillac Championship competitor Hideki Matsuyama on Twitter for poor etiquette at Doral, was back at it, tweeting on Saturday that golf writer Dale Concannon bore a striking resemblance to a particular part of the male anatomy.

Concannon, who took to Twitter to type his objection to Poulter calling Matsuyama an “idiot,” and take a shot at the sartorially splendid Brit who has yet to win a major, also reminded the 2012 European Ryder Cup star of a shape quite the opposite of a golf stick (anyone else remember Robert Klein’s old joke about hot dogs chasing donuts through the Lincoln Tunnel?).

Poulter made nice with Matsuyama prior to their pairing in Saturday’s third round, but not before calling out the 22-year-old Japanese golfer, who, frustrated after missing a par putt on the par-3 13th, tore up the green with his flat stick turned shovel.

Perhaps Poulter, who began Sunday’s finale at 6-over and was not exactly on his game, took his own frustrations out on Twitter.

Can’t wait to see what Poulter has to say after Sunday’s round.
