Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ Monday night

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy share the same equipment supplier, Nike, and Monday night the two golf superstars will share the stage with Jimmy Fallon, according to reports.

Seemingly moving in opposite directions in their careers -- with Woods battling injuries and missing the second cut in four starts since back surgery in March, and McIlroy winning his fourth major Sunday at the PGA Championship -- the two became friends a few years ago when they faced each other on the course a number of times.

McIlroy has also been compared often to Woods, with several pundits and close colleaugues boosting the 25-year-old from Northern Ireland as the heir apparent to the struggling 14-time major champion.

A golf enthusiast on his own, Fallon boasts a Golf Digest cover. He also made a splash earlier this week when he poked fun at several PGA Tour stars, including Woods and McIlroy.

Monday will mark McIlroy’s first appearance with Fallon, while Woods will be making his second. Tiger famously lost a contest to the late-night funny man back in 2009.
