PGA Tour pro reveals his plan to give out beer money at Phoenix Open

The drunkest hole in golf will get some financial support from Ryan Palmer.

Most of the players in the field at the Phoenix Open hand out (largely branded) swag and other giveaway items to the rowdy crowd that encloses the par-3 16th at TPC Scottsdale. Ryan Palmer, one of the cooler and understated players on Tour, tweeted that he’d be tossing cash, earmarked only for beer, into the crowd.

We’ll see if Palmer launches them into the crowd, or delicately hands them over the railings. Remember this is the first year where the Tour is attempting to cut down on the fun and prohibit players from throwing things into the crowd at No. 16. We’ll see how well that works.
