PGA Tour pro in last place starts using Happy Gilmore swing off the tee

The unhinged John Peterson was in last place and needed a reason to keep himself interested.

John Peterson is a maniac and here’s hoping he stays on the PGA Tour for the next 20 years.

Peterson started the fourth and final round of the CIMB Classic, which is an OFFICIAL PGA TOUR event, at 16-over. In this limited-field event without a cut, that was a good 36 shots back of 54-hole leader Justin Thomas. So Peterson decided he’d just take a Happy Gilmore cut to start his round. We’ve seen that in charity games and practice rounds and on the driving range, but when they’re actually counting the strokes in a real PGA Tour event?

Peterson generally DGAF and apparently had this cued up for Sunday.

That first tee shot was the start of a 6-under 66, but Peterson still came in last by three shots.

Peterson said he’s done until the Tour starts back up in the new year in Hawaii, so presumably he’s off to go hunting and watch LSU for the next few months.
