Watch this PGA Tour pro hit 4 straight shots into a sand trap

The 10th hole at Riviera is arguably the best hole on the entire PGA Tour schedule. It’s hard to find a better par-4. The hole presents a classic risk-reward scenario.

For the Northern Trust Open, it usually plays just over 300 yards -- an easily drivable distance for these pros. But it doesn’t have an easily navigable chute to run the ball up onto the green, like many drivable par-4s on Tour. The hole is littered with bunkers and spots that quickly put a player in jail. It also has an famously small and slick green.

Scott Piercy saw all of it on Thursday at the 10th, which was just his first hole of the day. Piercy went for the green and drove his ball into a bunker. That would be just the first of four shots into the sand on this short little par-4.

Piercy started his week on the 10th tee just after 7 a.m. local in Los Angeles. That adventure up around the green resulted in a double bogey, and pretty much wrecked his entire tournament just 10 minutes into it. It’s been ugly ever since.
