Ian Poulter got a bad read from his caddie Terry Mundy and had to navigate his way home from dinner after his car was towed Friday night.
Ian Poulter blames caddie for getting his car towed
Ian Poulter has a post-dining surprise when his Farmers Insurance Open courtesy car is towed away Friday night.

Taxi for Poulter tonight after dinner, car towed away. @terrymundy told me to park in big parking lot. What next, car towed away. #Cheers
— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) February 7, 2015 Poulter went out for a bite to eat with Mundy after carding a 1-under 71 in the second round of the Farmers Insurance Open and when the duo emerged from the restaurant, his tournament courtesy car had gone missing. The European Ryder Cup standout, who was six shots off the lead heading into Sunday’s finale at Torrey Pines, believed someone had stolen the vehicle but it turned out he had parked it in a place not authorized for diners of that particular eatery.
Parked next door to the restaurant tonight in large car park. Car was towed away because we didn't eat in the correct restaurant. #Cheers
— Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) February 7, 2015 “There were 60 spots in the car park. We walked 40 yards to a restaurant, but apparently that restaurant that we ate in wasn’t quite in the vicinity of where I should have parked,” Poulter told the Associated Press’ Doug Ferguson Saturday. “The kind security guard who was standing by my car as I parked waited until I left and then called a tow truck to tow it away so he could make some money.
“I told him my car had been stolen,” Poulter said. “He said, ‘Nope, we towed it away.’ I said, ‘That was awfully nice of you.’ A few similar words.”
With no way to prove the car was his, since it was on loan from the tournament, Poulter could not retrieve the buggy and had to take a taxi back to his hotel.
“It was brilliant,” Poulter said, “because my caddie told me to park there.”
.@terrymundy thought it was funny that my courtesy car was towed away tonight he has called me Carlos. Don't have paperwork can't collect it
