The Tiger Woods circus returns to Augusta for more practice

Tiger Woods returns to Augusta National for another turn around the course that will host next week’s Masters. Whether the four-time winner of the green jacket will be on the tee on Thursday likely depends on the outcome of Friday’s practice session.

Tiger Woods is back -- at Augusta National for another practice round on Friday.

Golf Channel reported that Woods had returned to the site of next week’s Masters for another spin around the iconic track on the way, presumably, to making up his mind about whether his game is good enough to take on the field in the men’s first major of the season.

More evidence that Tiger was in the house was provided by feet on the ground in Augusta.

Woods reportedly shot a less-than-stellar 74 on Tuesday, a round that, according to Golfweek, included some “indifferent” chip shots that might indicate Tiger’s short game is not yet ready for prime time. That score may have alarmed Team Tiger, but at least one former member of Woods’ entourage was far more concerned about his wedges than the final score.

This being the Masters and with no alternates waiting on the sidelines, Tiger does not have to commit to play until his hypothetical tee time on Thursday. So this could drag on for a few more days, or we might have a resolution sometime Friday. As always, in the never-ending soap opera that is Tiger Woods, stay tuned ...
