2015 Masters weather forecast: Storms could threaten on weekend at Augusta

Storms are in the forecast for the 2015 Masters but how much of an impact will they have on the golfers and the course?

Weather is always a challenge across the southeastern United States during the spring and it always seems like showers threaten at least one day of the Masters. That could be the case during the 2015 Masters at Augusta National.

The first day of the Masters will be hot and humid for this time of year. Temperatures will be climbing into the upper 80s. With all the heat and moisture in the air there is a chance for isolated showers or storms forming during the late day hours. Most of Thursday’s first round looks dry, just hot and sticky.

Friday will again be mostly dry but a cold front is expected to pass through the area towards the late afternoon and into the evening. This would be the best chance for showers and possibly strong storms. Most of the golfing action should finish before showers and storms arrive.

Clouds and maybe a shower linger in the morning on Saturday but otherwise it looks to be mostly dry. Temperatures will be cooler for the weekend, dropping into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. The final round of the Masters looks like the best day -- no threat of rain, some clouds and pleasant temperatures.
