Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass: Tee times, pairings for Saturday’s Round 3

Big names loom deep down the leaderboard ready to chase leaders Kevin Na and Jerry Kelly at TPC Sawgrass.

Kevin Na and Jerry Kelly form the lead pairing at the Players Championship heading into the third round Saturday. Both are now 8-under for the tournament, two strokes ahead of the their next closest competitors.

The biggest names are a ways down the leaderboard. Rory McIlroy is one of 14 golfers lurking just outside the top 10 at 4-under through two rounds. Jim Furyk is tied with McIlroy. One stroke back are Henrik Stenson and Bubba Watson, tied for 27th.

McIlroy will pair with Billy Horschel on Friday. The two form an intriguing pair. They have played a lot together over the last year or so, including a 20-hole match just last week that Rory won to advance at WGC Match Play. They even had beef once upon time. McIlroy didn’t much care for Horschel’s overexuberance when they faced each other as amateurs at the Walker Cup in 2007.

Tiger Woods just eked past the cut line Friday, making birdie on his final green to pull up to even-par. The tight save shouldn’t be admonished. Wunderkind Jordan Spieth, currently No. 2 in the world, fell on the wrong side of the cut line after posting a 75 and a 72.

Woods will pair with Graham DeLaet, teeing off at 9:10 a.m. ET. Those hoping to catch Tiger on television may be out of luck. The early tee time means he will likely have played his entire round before NBC picks up coverage at 2 p.m. Fortunately, he will appear on the featured groups stream at PGATour.com for those who are technologically inclined.

You can check out the full list of tee times below. Though television coverage won’t begin until well into the afternoon, the PGA Tour’s featured groups stream and featured holes stream (beginning at noon showing every shot from famous island No. 17 par-3) should tide fans over.
