Tiger Woods hit a drive that landed short of the forward tees
Here’s a 105-yard drive from a 14-time major winner.
Tiger Woods has been yanking drives into trees down the left side of the fairways at TPC Sawgrass all week. This may not have been his ugliest swing, but the result of his drive at the 2nd on Saturday morning was certainly the worst.
The hole calls for a draw, but Woods hooked one into the trees directly into front of the tee. The ball ricocheted out across the opening in front of the tee and ended up in the right pine straw ... about 70 yards short of the START of the cut of the fairway, and the forward tee.
The drive was measured at 105 yards on PGATour.com, leaving him 420 left to the hole on the par-5. He’d go on to make a double bogey seven -- he had almost no chance of contending at the start of the round, but that number on his second hole probably removes all doubt.
The PGATour ShotTracker image was maybe the most disheartening and depressing of Tiger’s career.
So, so sad.
