If Tiger Woods needs any bucking up, as he slogs through another uninspired U.S. Open round at 1-over through 11 holes for the day (11-over for the tournament), he might take some comfort from knowing another past U.S. Open winner is having a far worse day than he is.
Lucas Glover is having a way worse U.S. Open than Tiger Woods
Lucas Glover scores an 11-over 47 on the front nine of Friday’s second round of the U.S. Open.
Lucas Glover, who prevailed at the 2009 national tournament, was at 11-over 47 in Friday’s second round at Chambers Bay. That’s a 47. After nine holes.
With another bogey on No. 10, Glover is a candidate to break 90 — and not in a good way.
Looking forward to the next @GolfDigest "How to Break 90" by Lucas Glover @NoLayingUp

Two guys who "loved" Chambers Bay during recent visits paired today at Memorial: Lucas Glover and Phil Mickelson.
— Rex Hoggard (@RexHoggardGC) June 6, 2015 Thanks to Glover, club pro Rich Berberian Jr. — who gained a measure of renown on Thursday for finishing the opening round two shots back of Tiger — is no longer dead last.
