2015 Wyndham Championship: Tee times, pairings for Sunday’s round in Greensboro

Sunday in Greensboro is typically the stage for the last-minute grind and desperate final push for the FedExCup. The Wyndham usually has a lower-tier field, comprised of players near the cutoff of that top 125 in the playoff standings and those just trying to maintain their PGA Tour card and improve their status. There are always multiple different competitions and contests in play beyond just the instant tournament and Wyndham Championship trophy.

This Sunday, however, will be the province of Tiger Woods, the most famous player in the history of the game who has come to Greensboro for the first time in his career. Tiger has obviously found some kind of form this week after the most miserable summer in his almost 20 years on Tour. After getting to the 36-hole co-lead late Friday night, Woods anchored the tee sheet on Saturday for the first time in more than two years. The last time he had played in a final pairing on the weekend, the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, he won.

Tiger is going to have to chase on this Sunday -- he lost his lead with a perfectly acceptable round of 68 on Saturday and missed a putt at the last hole that would have put him in the final pairing with Jason Gore.

Instead, that miss at the last puts the leader Gore, who is ahead of Tiger by two shots, in the final group with Jonas Blixt. It was Blixt who set the early pace on Saturday, getting out ahead of the leaders by a few hours and posting a 62 up on the board. Blixt, Tiger, and Scott Brown are all at 13-under, but according to Tour conventions, the first player in from Saturday with that score will go out last on Sunday and Blixt was done hours before Tiger.

Gore obviously has the advantage up two shots, but all eyes will be on the group ahead of him and he’ll have to deal with those overwhelming crowds running around and chasing Tiger. This is a smaller golf course too so the crowding is even more accentuated when Tiger’s there and in contention.

He may not win, but it’s good to have Tiger playing late on Sunday again. Here’s the full tee sheet for Sunday’s final round:
