The FedExCup playoffs are supposed be the climax of an almost 11-month season accruing points on the most competitive pro golf tour in the world. The start of this year’s postseason at The Barclays, however, will lack some pop on the weekend.
The 2015 Barclays streaming: How to watch online, TV coverage and more
Football season approaches and Jim Nantz will make a sad 2015 farewell to golf this weekend at The Barclays.

Jordan Spieth, the No. 1 player in the world and dominant No. 1 in the FEC points standings, missed his first cut since early May. Rory McIlroy decided to skip the event, resting his ankle and on the pile of points he earned during the season that put him safely into next week’s Deutsche Bank Championship without having to tee it up in the first event. Tiger Woods, the only player to win more than one FedExCup, is on the couch at home after coming miles short of of having the necessary points to qualify in the top 125 of the season-ending standings. As we saw last week at the typically sleepy Wyndham Championship, Tiger remains the game’s No. 1 draw, especially for TV, and there’s not even a close second. The 3rd round ratings at the Wyndham were better than the 3rd round of the British Open, PGA Championship, and U.S. Open and the Sunday ratings were the strongest final round of a non-major since the 2014 Players.
With the three biggest names in golf absent, CBS will be up against it in their final golf broadcast of the year. Last week’s Wyndham will definitely have stronger ratings than this postseason event. Sadly for Jim Nantz, he did not make the trip to Greensboro, an event he presumed Tiger would not play and play well in at the end of he season. After probably spending last week picking grapes and making wines out in California, Nantz returns for The Barclays on Saturday. With football bearing down, it’s their last event before handing Saturday and Sunday coverage off to NBC for the last three legs of the FedExCup.
If you’re unable to watch on TV on Golf Channel and CBS, there are multiple streams up and running throughout the day. CBS will have a simulcast stream for the conclusion of the third round and PGA Tour Live will have a mix of featured holes and featured groups coverage running all day. The featured groups stream, which will run concurrent to the late broadcast, will be behind the new paywalled PGA TOUR Live service. Here are all your media options for Saturday’s Barclays.
