Rickie Fowler doesn’t need any help but this poor shot ended up inches from the hole thanks to his playing partner, Jordan Spieth.

Of the three players in the headline group at Thursday’s opening round of the BMW Championship, Jordan Spieth is probably the one that could use a lucky bounce right now. Instead, Spieth was the provider of one of the luckiest breaks you’ll see on tour. His playing partner and last week’s winner, Rickie Fowler, appeared to hit a mediocre shot that was probably going to sail over the green. But thanks to Spieth, who was already up on the putting surface and fairly close to the target, Fowler found himself just 13 inches from the cup.

— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) September 17, 2015 While Spieth’s ball did go rocketing off the putting surface, by rule, he’s allowed to put it back in the estimated original spot. He still two-putted for par while Fowler strolled up to the green with his prime new position and tapped in for his birdie. He’s 1-under and the third member of the group, Jason Day, is leading yet again at 4-under.
