How to watch the FedExCup’s TOUR Championship live online, TV schedule, radio and more

There are just four rounds left in the PGA Tour season and almost every world-class player is on hand in Atlanta. Here’s how to watch this week’s Tour Championship.

The PGA Tour season, which started last October, is finally coming to a close this week at the TOUR Championship, the fourth and final leg of the FedExCup. The new wraparound schedule has its critics, and the postseason format does as well. But the annual stop at East Lake in Atlanta has solidified as a fitting end to what now seems like an interminable season.

Only 30 players make the field at the TOUR Championship. It’s the smallest, most exclusive tournament on the entire schedule and just getting here triggers several perks and exemptions for the next season, including an invite to the Masters. Almost all of the top players in the world are left in the playoffs and will tee it up this week. Jim Furyk had to withdraw on Tuesday with this wrist injury that’s popped up in the last two weeks, trimming the field to 29. But everyone else -- Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, all the names that have lit up this incredible post-Tiger transitional season -- are here.

The small field also gives the Tour and its TV partner a ton of flexibility with scheduling. That comes in handy this time of year, when every sport is trying to avoid being swallowed whole by football on the weekends. With the NFL and SEC football in full swing, NBC takes over for CBS for these last three legs of the FedExCup. They do not have any Sunday afternoon NFL conflicts, but do occasionally have a Saturday conflict when there is a Notre Dame home game. The Irish are at home during this year’s Tour Championship, so they will send the small field out early on Saturday, targeting a finish just before the 3:30 p.m. kickoff in South Bend on NBC.

Aside from that Saturday anomaly, the other rounds will all start around Noon and finish up about 6 p.m. on either Golf Channel or NBC. They will be out in twosomes all four days and re-paired according to score right away on Friday, as opposed to the usual 36-hole midpoint. Expect these rounds to come in right around or even under four hours, unless it gets tight late on Sunday. There’s not a lot of golf to show with just 30 players, but things should run smooth and on time if the weather stays clear.

If you’re unable to watch on TV, there will be multiple streaming options each day. Golf Channel and NBC will have their typical simulcast stream of all the TV coverage up and running for each round. Those broadcasts are going to cover almost the entire field’s entire round, so you’re not really missing a morning wave before TV goes live. Again, because so much of the round is during the TV coverage window, PGA Tour Live’s usual featured groups stream is not necessary. That’s usually a service that follows the big names when they play in the morning on Thursdays and Fridays before the TV coverage is available in the afternoon. With the small field all playing in the afternoon, PGA Tour Live will have a featured holes stream all four days instead. Here are all your media options for the week in Atlanta:
