There are a lot of really, really wealthy 20-something golfers out there right now. Off the course, Rickie Fowler is maybe the most desired pitchman of the entire crop but this year he’s been banking millions with wins on the course. Fowler has long been one of the game’s most public faces, endorsing everything and cashing plenty of checks due to the Rickie #brand.
Deutsche Bank Championship purse: Rickie Fowler wins another huge payout
Rickie Fowler does not need the money but he’ll happily take another massive winner’s check, his third of the year.

In May, Fowler won the top prize from the richest purse in golf at The Players. The major championships have jumped up and matched that $10 million purse this year, but no one has passed it yet. Rickie earned $1.8 million for that win. His Deutsche Bank Championship title won’t pay out that much, but it’s still one of the richest purses in the game. Fowler walks away with $1.45 million of an $8.25 million purse -- only the majors, The Players, and the WGC events put more money on the table.
Aside from these individual event purses, there’s also a ludicrous amount of bonus cash doled out during these Playoffs. There is $33 million in purse money across four tournaments, and then $35 million in bonus money. The largest chunk of that pool goes to the overall FedExCup winner in Atlanta, which is $10 million. Fowler is in line for another seven-figure payout at the end of the postseason if he can keep his form over the next two events.
Fowler is now No. 3 in the FedExCup standings -- if he finishes there, he’ll get a $2 million bonus money check. Another 30 players were eliminated this week at the Deutsche Bank, but they still walk away with either $75k or $80k in bonus cash. Here’s the full breakdown of the bonus money payouts.

| 30 | $175,000 | TOTAL | $35,000,000 |
That money is a huge motivator for some of these bigger names who don’t really have to play after the season’s final major. Fowler has maintained all year, however, that he just wants to get more wins and feel what winning is like on the most competitive Tour in the world. After that three-year drought and all the overrated talk, this season has been a total breakthrough on that front. The money is nice though too.
