PGA Tour pro drains first albatross of career with incredible shot at Torrey Pines
Holes-in-one are child’s play compared to the elusive albatross.

Anyone can make a hole-in-one on the PGA Tour. But the albatross, or “double eagle” for the uninformed, is the most elusive number in the game. So it should come as no surprise that this was the the first ever for Jason Gore, who has played 13,455 holes in his career (per Justin Ray of Golf Channel).
Gore smoked a fairway metal at the par-5 18th hole at Torrey Pines, carrying the water at the South Course’s famous finishing hole and fading it right up to the cup. It was just the second ever albatross in this event, the last coming in 1987.
Before @JasonGore59 today, last player to make two on the par-5 18th on Torrey Pines’ SC was D. Edwards in R3 '87. @PGATOUR @FarmersInsOpen
