PGA Tour pro violently snaps club over leg after hitting one in the water

“You f***ing idiot!” A water hazard at the Honda Classic had one golfer cursing himself and his playing partner, with the first name Smylie, angry enough to snap a club.

The Sunday pairing of Smylie Kaufman and Shane Lowry provided a good sequence of PR for the “Bear Trap,” that three-hole stretch at the Honda Classic that’s promoted endlessly for wrecking rounds.

The wind was whipping at PGA National, making the par-3 15th and its precarious pin location that much more difficult. Kaufman and Lowry both put it in the water and both reacted in their own spectacular ways. Kaufman went with the rare club snap -- he’ll be down a club for the rest of his round, which is fortunately just a couple holes longer. Lowry went with a wonderful Irish curse.

And there are still a few more hours of coverage to come from this three-hole stretch!
