Masters 2017: TV schedule and coverage for Friday’s round

ESPN’s coverage of the tournament from Augusta National continues on Friday.

The 2017 Masters Tournament continues on Friday morning, with the first set of golfers teeing off from Augusta National at 8:00 a.m. ET sharp.

One of the biggest stories from the first round on Thursday was Charley Hoffman’s impressive outing. He scored a 65 on the day, finishing at 7-under with a four-stroke lead over William McGirt and five over Lee Westwood. Jordan Spieth finished tied for 41st at 3-over on the day, quadrupling the 15th hole. Rory McIlroy had a solid outing on Thursday, finishing tied for 12th at even par.

Like Thursday’s round, Friday’s television coverage will air on ESPN, starting in the afternoon. Scott Van Pelt will be the main host for the network’s Thursday and Friday telecasts, along with golf analyst Curtis Strange, and Tom Rinaldi interviewing the players. Sage Steele will also host SportsCenter alongside Van Pelt from Augusta National.

CBS commentators such as Jim Nantz and Sir Nick Faldo will also be heard on ESPN’s coverage, along with commentators set at certain holes. Some of those include Ian Baker-Finch on the 17th hole, Verne Lundquist on the 16th hole, and Peter Kostis on the 15th hole.

Take a look at ESPN’s second-round coverage schedule below, which includes the encore presentation on Friday evening.

Friday Round 2 television coverage

Time: 3:00-7:30 p.m. ET

TV: ESPN

Live streaming: WatchESPN

Encore presentation: 8-11 p.m. on ESPN.

The average score on Thursday was on the higher side at 72, thanks to some high winds at Augusta National. The bad news is that those same winds, blowing at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35, are expected for Friday’s weather forecast. The last two days of the tournament on Saturday and Sunday aren’t expected to have the same conditions.
