Masters 2017 leaderboard: Charley Hoffman looking to maintain lead

The Masters leader teed off on Friday morning.

The second round of the 2017 Masters got underway on Friday morning, and the board’s leader, Charley Hoffman, held his top spot with the start of his round. Through four holes, Hoffman has been able to hold a three-stroke lead at 5-under.

Behind Hoffman at 3-under are Will McGirt and Sergio Garcia, who has opened with a strong round with three birdies on his first three holes. Following McGirt’s second-place finish on Thursday, he had a solid outing for Round 2, making birdies on holes 2 and 4. He had a couple of bogeys, on 1 and 14, but has still been able to closely trail Hoffman.

The majority of guys who are close behind both Garcia and Hoffman tee off this afternoon, including Andy Sullivan, Michael Fitzpatrick, Phil Mickelson, and Justin Rose, who are tied for fourth behind Hoffman at 1-under.

The Masters reigning champion, Danny Willett, struggled a bit with the front nine on Friday morning, making a double bogey on hole No. 1, which he did on Thursday as well.

The official Masters leaderboard updates constantly and automatically. As of noon on Friday, here’s where the field stands at Augusta, with the cut anticipated to be between 45 and 50.
