No one really wants to work on a Friday, especially during Championship Week. We’re supposed to be as unproductive as possible at work these next two weeks in March, first for conference tournaments, and then for the big dance. Well I’ve get another distraction to keep you from your work, and even get you to the basketball later in the in the afternoon.

Tiger Woods will tee off in Tampa at the Valspar Championship before 8 a.m. ET. on Friday Get your coffee, settle in, and pull up the live stream for his morning round. Tiger’s comeback is exceeding expectations and it’s time it became a bigger story than it’s been these first two months of the season. What he’s doing right now, with a fused back and working through another altered swing on his own, is astounding. Woods may not run away with a win, although given how it’s going, it would not be shocking to see him pick off a W. But he keeps getting better and more consistent with each start. He entered the Valspar with just 10 PGA Tour rounds under his belt, and is now tied for 8th after 18 in Tampa.

So what I’m saying is Tiger could be in the lead of a damn PGA Tour event before you’ve had your breakfast on Friday. He’s playing really well right now, from tee to green. His driver is still going miles long and getting a little less wild. his ballstriking is now sharp, and his short game is world-class. He put all phases to the test in the opening round, one that roughed up the field, including his playing partners, Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson. Spieth is 5-over and Stenson is 3-over. The trio will go on Friday at 7:56 a.m. ET on this Copperhead course at Innisbrook resort.

PGA Tour Live will likely see a boost in subscriptions on Friday. The Tour’s OTT service is getting a nice bump with Tiger back on Tour, especially during these windows before the TV coverage goes live. It’s why they created this service a few years ago and while the paywall may be frustrating, the stream quality is as good as it gets and the production is solid. We only have, at max, seven more Tiger rounds ahead of the Masters. This week’s Valspar and next week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. I expect the good feelings and positive trends to continue on Friday and it will be worth watching.
