Trailing by eight at halftime, West Oso of Corpus Christi (35-3) outscored Burkburnett (33-4) 36-24 in periods three and four to win the Class 3A championship61-57 in front of a crowd of 10,000-plus in Austin on Saturday morning.

Leading the way for West Oso was senior forward Raymond Robinson with 26 points and nine rebounds. Robinson, a first-team all-state selection last season, shunned Division 1 offers to stay close to home signing a letter of intent to play at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
West Oso senior guard Willie Harper chipped in 17 points including three baskets from beyond the arc and eight rebounds. Harper has drawn interest from a handful of smaller division 1 schools.
Burkburnett, a north Texas high school on the Red River bordering Oklahoma, was led by senior guards Brent Deeb and Jarard Graham with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Earlier in the tournament, Burkburnett made national news when it knocked off Estacado of Lubbock, which at the time was the Class 3A defending champion and ranked in the top-25 nationally.
