Over Memorial Day Weekend, Legge will compete in the Indianapolis 500, driving the No. 11 e.l.f. Cosmetics Chevrolet for HMD Motorsports with AJ Foyt Racing. But she will then trek to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Coca-Cola 600, where she will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet for Live Fast Motorsports in a race that starts mere hours after the checkered flag will fly in Indianapolis.
Legge’s attempt at one of motorsport’s rarest feats already places her on a small list.
Only five drivers have attempted the same-day “Double,” driving in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day: John Andretti, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, Kurt Busch, and most recently Kyle Larson in both 2024 and 2025. 14 drivers in total have tried their hands at both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same season, but only those five made the attempt when the races were on the same day.
Legge will be the first woman to attempt “The Double.” Janet Guthrie drove in the 1976 World 600 (which is now the Coca-Cola 600) after failing to qualify for the 1976 Indy 500.
Legge has qualified for all four Indy 500s she has entered, and in 2023 became the fastest woman to ever qualify for the historic race. She made her first NASCAR Cup Series start of the 2026 season at Watkins Glen on May 10.
