FULL RESULTS: Ryan Hunter-Reay takes the checkered flag

ABC/ESPN will be putting some of its 92 cameras to work Sunday at the Indianapolis 500 with 36 of them giving in-car views of that race. ESPN3 will feature 12 in-car cams to go along with the television coverage of the race.

That will give viewers the chance to ride along with Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe, Tony Kanaan, Ed Carpenter, Simon Pagenaud, Charlie Kimball, Will Power, Jacques Villenueve, Marco Andretti, Graham Rahal, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Juan Pablo Montoya in the 98th running of the race.

Verizon also offers the ability to stream in-car cameras. Their app can be downloaded here.

This year marks the 50th consecutive broadcast of the Indy 500 by ABC. In addition to the regular camera angles and in-car feeds, a number of other looks are planned for the broadcast.

“We will have a helicopter cam for the entire race,” ESPN vice president of motorsports production Rich Feinberg said. “We have several ultraslow motion cameras that we have strategically placed around the track. We have wall cams. We have grass cams. We have hand-held cams. We have robotic cams. I think we got the place pretty well wired up.”

Radio coverage will be provided by the IndyCar Radio Network, which can be heard in most major cities over the air as well as through Sirius and XM radio channels.

Ed Carpenter earned the pole and will lead the 33-car field to the start/finish line at approximately 12:12 p.m. ET.

Both the television and radio coverage begin at 11 a.m. ESPN3 coverage begins at noon.
