The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 is now just eight days away, and we start with two days of qualifying, beginning on Saturday afternoon from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Indy 500 qualifying 2016: Start time, TV schedule and live stream for Saturday

The best IndyCar drivers in the world will try to win the milestone edition of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” but first will have to vie for position. Day 1 of qualifying is Saturday.
Saturday’s qualifying will whittle the field down to 33 drivers for Sunday’s Day 2 of qualifying. The top nine on Saturday will race in a special shootout to determine the pole position for the race, plus the order of the first nine drivers. The ones who finished 10-33 will have their Saturday times erased, and will re-qualify on Sunday for positions 10-33.
Qualifying begins at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday and runs through 5:50 p.m.
Juan Pablo Montoya won last year’s race, his second career Indy 500 victory, but his first since 2000.
The 2016 Indianapolis 500 will be run on Sunday, May 29, and will be televised by ABC.
ESPN3 and ABC will provide coverage of the first day of qualifying on Saturday, with announcer Allen Bestwick joined by analysts Scott Goodyear and Eddie Cheever in the booth. Rick DeBruhl, Dr. Jerry Punch and Jon Beekhuis will be reporting from the pits.
