ABC will cove the 2016 Indianapolis 500 on Sunday afternoon, and among the many innovations with this year’s broadcast is the ability to follow the historic race from several different vantage points.

The network is touting “100 cameras for the 100th,” as this year is the 100th edition of the iconic Memorial Day weekend race.
Over a third of those cameras are on board cars, with 12 of the 33 drivers cooperating for the coverage, with three cameras apiece. The drivers with cameras in their cars are pole-sitter James Hinchcliffe, 2015 winner Juan Pablo Montoya, Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Tony Kanaan, Josef Newgarden, Simon Pagenaud, Will Power, Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato.
Viewers will have the option to choose various points of view during the race using WatchESPN.
ABC will also use four high-motion cameras all around the track and pit road, capable of replays up to 20 times slower than real time.
ABC begins its television coverage with a pre-race show at 11 a.m. ET, with race coverage set for noon. Allen Bestwick will call the race, joined in the booth by analysts Scott Goodyear and Eddie Cheeever, plus pit reporters Jon Beekhuis, Rick DeBruhl and Dr. Jerry Punch.
The green flag is scheduled for 12:17 p.m. ET.
