Multi-car crash slows Indianapolis 500

Five drivers at the Indianapolis 500 — James Hinchcliffe, Josef Newgarden, Will Power, Oriol Servia, and James Davison — were involved in a crash with just 17 laps remaining in Sunday’s race.
Servia’s car made contact with the rear of Davison’s car, and from there both drivers lost control, bringing Hinchcliffe and Power along with them, while Newgarden lost control trying to avoid contact.
None of the drivers involved were injured.
Earlier in the day, pole-sitter Scott Dixon was involved in a terrifying crash that flipped his car after making contact with Jay Howard’s car. Both men were also unharmed from that crash.
