Colton Herta won the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday. The 40-lap race around the track is held as part of Carb Day in advance of the Indianapolis 500, which takes place on Sunday. Herta held off Pato O’Ward by just two hundredths of a second.

Also part of the festivities on Friday is the Pit Stop Challenge, which was won by Scott Dixon and the Chip Ganassi Racing Pit Crew. It was an entertaining challenge, as always, with Dixon edging out James Hinchcliffe in the finals. You can watch the final run below.

Hinchcliffe, notably, will not be racing the Indy 500 on Sunday, as he

Herta led for 10 of the 40 laps of Friday. The top five was separated by just three tenths of a second. Below, you can see the full finishing order for the IndyLights Freedom 100

1. Colton Herta
2. Pato O’Ward
3. Dalton Kellett
4. Santi Urrutia
5. Ryan Norman
6. Aaron Telitz
7. Davey Hamilton Jr.
8. Victor Franzoni

In the final Indy 500 practice session earlier in the day, Tony Kanaan finished on top, while Danica Patrick suffered an ECU problem and only managed to put in 15 laps for her final race. Kanaan managed 38 laps, and set a speed of 227.791 mph, finishing ahead of Scott Dixon.

Marco Andretti, Sebastien Bourdais, and Charlie Kimball rounded out the top five. Ed Carpenter, who has pole position for the race, went 14th fastest while putting in 30 laps on Friday. Kanaan will start 10th, Patrick will start seventh, Dixon will start ninth, Andretti will start 12th, Bourdais will start fifth, and, finally, Kimball will start 15th.
