Maria Sharapova Could Carry Russian Flag At Opening Ceremonies

Recent 2012 French Open champion Maria Sharapova is rumored to be the favorite to carry the Russian flag during the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics. The president of the Russian Tennis Federation says she has already been chosen, while Russia’s sports minister (great title) denies that claim, saying only that Sharapova “is really one of the contenders... but there’s a special procedure for the selection.”

Whoever ultimately carries the flag for Russia on July 27, we offer a humble suggestion as to which flag that should be, after the jump.
