Following Wednesday night’s Olympic Trials in San Jose, the United States trampoline team is set for the 2012 summer games in London.
Savannah Vinsant, Steven Gluckstein Earn U.S. Olympic Trampoline Spots
Three-time national champion Steven Gluckstein punched his ticket to the event by winning the trials and will be the men’s representative for the U.S. Gluckstein missed out on making it to the 2008 Olympics after faltering in the trials that year, according to NBC Olympics.
The official USA Gymnastics website had comments from Gluckstein after the win:
“I’m speechless - I have no words for it,” said Vinsant, who won all three selection events. “I’m filled with joy and I’m at peace that it’s over. I had a big group of girls out there with me this year who were awesome, and they definitely kept me on my toes all year. I’m honored to be representing Team USA.”
The women’s representative will be Savannah Vinsant, a 19-year-old from Newton, TX. Both Vinsant and Gluckstein had won all three meets leading up to the trials.
