Headlined by Gabby Douglas, who had a unique way of celebrating after her team-high score clinched her an automatic berth in the games. The five-woman squad is rounded out by McKayla Maroney, Alexandra Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber. The squad is more or less the odds-on favorite to win team gold in London.

Notably absent is Nastia Liukin, whose prolific gymnastics career may be at an end. The 22-year old had sub-par trials, and the crowd realized they might have been witnessing her final performance on a major stage, giving her a rousing ovation as she finished her routine on the balance beam.
