Colombia’s Lady Andrade has been suspended two games by FIFA for her cheap shot to Abby Wambach’s right eye in a group game at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The United States sought FIFA review after the game Saturday, and were granted their wish. The women’s national team should be happy with the results.

Wambach was knocked down to the ground by the first half punch, and stayed down for nearly a minute. In the second half of the match she took a measure of revenge by scoring her 139th goal in international play to help the Americans secure a 3-0 win.
Colombia is currently in the cellar of Group G with an 0-0-2 record and zero goals. They will need an absolutely dominant victory over France on Tuesday if Andrade is to serve here entire suspension in London. The U.S. is in first place at 2-0-0 with a plus-5 goal differential.
