Geno Smith plays catch shirtless, feeling ‘great’ post surgery to repair broken jaw
Eye black? Check.
Shirtless for photographers? Check.
Geno Smith is feeling great! Photos have emerged of the Jets quarterback following the surgery he had to repair his broken jaw on Thursday.
Despite having the start of his season ruined by now ex-teammate IK Enemkpali, it looks like he must be feeling OK because he was quick to lose his shirt and enjoy a game of catch with a friend outside his New Jersey apartment complex.
Smith however wasn’t in the mood for questions, but managed to answer a query about how he was feeling.
I feel great. You see me throwing, right?
He also relayed a message to Jets fans regarding the six- to 10-week layoff:
Get ready for me to come back.
No word yet on how many of those throws were incomplete during his game of catch.

UPDATE: Geno’s team is not happy about this.
Todd Bowles not happy that Geno Smith was working out on his own so soon after surgery. Says they "dealt with it internally." #nyj
