Justin Tucker and Mike Nugent have been on opposite ends of the kicking spectrum in 2016.
Justin Tucker is kicking 55-yard field goals. Mike Nugent is still missing extra points
Matt Bryant’s got a 59-yarder, too.
Tucker has been one of the league’s best kickers, and the only who kicked in Week 1 to not miss a field goal all season.
Sunday, he nailed a 55-yarder for the Baltimore Ravens, making him 8-for-8 on 50+ yard field goal attempts this season. It’s tied for the second-most in a season in NFL history. That’s pretty dang good for what has been a pretty bad season for the rest of the league.
The Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Bryant decided to join in the long-range kicking fun with a 59-yard field goal. It was the second-longest kick of the season, behind Arizona’s Chandler Catanzaro, who made a 60-yard field goal earlier this season.
Nugent, on the other hand, has missed four of his last five extra point attempts, and has missed five in five games.
But at least he’s still making plays for the Bengals:
It’s a tough year to be a kicker, unless you’re one of the few performing particularly well.
