Shon Coleman held his draft party in the same hospital that treated his cancer
Shon Coleman had one of the toughest journeys to the NFL Draft. While other draftees were busy on the practice fields in college, he wasn’t fully there. He was getting treated for acute lymphocyte leukemia for 2 full years.
Even during that, Coleman was able to receive his bachelor’s degree in 2014 and his master’s degree in 2015. And that’s not even mentioning his feats on the fields once he was fully healthy to return to football.
Knowing how hard it was to reach the draft, it’s great to see Coleman give back to St. Jude’s, the same place that treated him for his cancer. He held his draft party there and found out his NFL fate there among the children being treated there, the hospital staff and his family. It probably won’t be the last time the new Cleveland Browns offensive tackle will visit. Nevertheless, this is awesome.
