Through six innings, we've only seen a pair of run-scoring swings - one off the bat of Mitch Moreland, and one off the bat of Josh Hamilton. Outside of those, it's been pretty quiet.
World Series Game 3, Giants Vs. Rangers: Colby Lewis, Guillermo Mota Spin Scoreless Sixth
Colby Lewis threw another solid inning in the top of the sixth. This frame took him 13 pitches - his highest single-inning pitch total since the second - but he nevertheless kept the Giants off the board, allowing only a two-out double to Aubrey Huff into right field. And even that double was hit off the end of the bat. Huff didn't make real solid contact, and he was stranded on second when Buster Posey struck out looking at a fastball down the pipe.
Reliever Guillermo Mota came out in the bottom of the sixth to continue his appearance, just trying to keep the Rangers within some kind of striking distance. Mota nearly gave in, as he allowed a one-out bloop single to Ian Kinsler and then walked Jeff Francoeur to put two on. But Mota escaped by getting Bengie Molina to roll over on a grounder to third, where Juan Uribe started another 5-4-3 double play.
It’s 4-0 Rangers headed for the top of the seventh, and the Giants are running out of time to make anything happen against Lewis, who’s been in control ever since a shaky top of the first.
